All being well the balcony will be in place in time for all our summer tournaments and competitions.

Course and Clubhouse Update

The long awaited return to using the 9th Tee will happen this Friday in time for the May Medal at the weekend.

The course has enough water to water the greens and we will cope with any long term drought that may take place. The forecast is for more hot weather for the next couple of weeks. Long may it continue.

The balcony on the clubhouse is being worked on and I am sure will take shape very soon. We apologise to people that are unable to use the patio because of the work as well as any noise caused. Hopefully your enjoyment of this superb course will not be diminished.

Club House Renovation

The course is looking good, but in need of a bit of water. Whilst there is sufficient water for the tees and greens the fairways will start to brown off soon, but still looking nice and green at the moment.

The club house renovations were well received by all and many societies that have attended have remarked on the excellent facilities and condition of the members room.

Phase 2 has now started. As of yesterday you will note that there is a fence at the back of the 18th green, where the work on building the balcony has started. Other than a few holes for the footings there is nothing yet to be seen, but all being well there will be minor disruption for only a few weeks. We apologise for the work being done, but it is needed to complete the project as quickly as possible.

Work in Progress

The 9th tee has almost been finished. This will be back in play for the spring / summer period and looks very impressive.

Next Tuesday the 15th February will see some trees being moved around the course and placed on the 4th and 5th holes. As a reuslt the 4th, 5th and 6th holes will be out of play.

Progress is being made in the clubhouse with the renovation. It is starting to take shape, although there is plenty of work still to be completed before the opening day.

The list is currently on the Board in the entrance hall of the Pembroke Suite.

The last quiz took place on Tuesday 1st February with 73 people taking part in a very enjoyable evening with good food. I am told the quiz master had some tough questions, although his singing wasn't up to much!
The winners on the night with a very respectable score were "Murray might win one day." Obviously the day came for Howard George and his team of dentists!
Second place were Forplay
Third place were Swats
Fourth place after a tie break question were Captain Cooks Crazy Crew

Score Input

The score input computer has been relocated to the Mackenzie Room.
If in doubt you go through the main clubhouse entrance and through the first door on the left and into the office on the left.

Clubhouse Update

The work has started. Although I will give some updates the intention is to have an opening evening, so I will not be giving detailed information, just how the work is progressing.
The date of the opening will be decided nearer the time once we have some sort of completion schedule.
Currently the work is expected to last four to five weeks.
Planning permission for the balcony has still yet to come through, but a decision will definately be made by February 7th, so hopefully work will also commence on the balcony soon after that date.

CLUBHOUSE REFURBISHMENT

The work to the members bar area of the clubhouse starts on Monday 24th January.
There will be no admittance to anyone to this area, which will cause an issue with getting from one part of the building to the other. The only route will be on the outside of the building to get from the changing rooms to the bar and food in the Pembroke Room. The works are expected to take up to four weeks to complete.
The Pembroke Room will be open for members use on all days except for a few, when there are private functions that have already been booked and that will take place.
Should planning permission be granted, which we are hoping to have approved in the next couple of weeks then work will also start on the balcony part of the project.
